About the Bicentennial Banner and Logo

The Bicentennial banner and logo were designed to represent the diversity that exists in the Diocese of Charleston. The architecture of our churches is varied and often reflects the original communities of Catholics who helped form the Church in South Carolina. Since we are an extensive diocese, it is divided into geographical regions, or deaneries, which fall under the limited authority of a dean. The composition in the logo includes one church from each deanery. They are:

• Aiken Deanery: St. Mary Help of Christians Church in Aiken
  
• Beaufort Deanery: St. James the Greater Mission in Walterboro
  
• Charleston Deanery: Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Charleston
  
• Columbia Deanery: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Camden
  
• Greenville Deanery: St. Paul the Apostle Church in Spartanburg
  
• Myrtle Beach Deanery: Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in North Myrtle Beach
• Rock Hill Deanery: St. Catherine of Siena Church in Lancaster
